Value and feasibility matrix

Assess each candidate by potential value and feasibility. The strongest first project is not always the one with maximum theoretical value. It should produce credible evidence quickly.

  • Frequency and current process time
  • Cost of error and ability to intervene
  • Availability of historical examples
  • Stability of the process rules
  • Readiness of the process owner

When not to automate

If the process is rare, every case is unique or quality cannot be evaluated, AI may increase chaos. Structure the workflow and data first.

Practical checklist

  • Named process owner
  • Baseline cost
  • Representative example set
  • Correct-answer criteria
  • Human escalation path
  • Pilot time and budget limit
